  • Probably one for the collector?

  • An antique 3/4 inch straight Firmer chisel by Thomas SHAW of Sheffield
  • Old Boxwood handle (shows some old cracks) secured with brass ferrule
  • 12 inch overall length with 6 inch tang with sloping style shoulders
  • Nice clear mark of  'T SHAW' near the top of the tang

  • Chisels by this maker are found in the  18th century Benjamin Seaton chest

  • In condition as recovered from workshop, so could be cleaned and polished if desired ?
